Yep. I'd say you had a good experience. My XR, even with plates and lights, etc, always gets the stink eye cause it looks like a dirt bike.

Neither of my decompression devices are hooked up. Never been an issue for me. I've been meaning to hook up the one on the handlebar but just haven't gotten around to it.

Fwiw, mine has been unhooked for a couple years now. No ill effect. I've seen several where the decompressor wasn't hooked up and it made no difference.
