It is a larger tire than an MT-43 which I've been using on both bikes for a while with great results. Have a Motoz hybrid going on the 500, and will be getting one for the 690 soon.

As long as it has cush hub, and is designed to fit the 690 as 690 rear hubs are 10mm wider than 500cc and below models, should work fine.

No need unless you are doing very gnarly singletrack, racing, or want lhrb. I'm currently not racing, but do prefer a lhrb and have the core 2 on the 500 and previously had one on a 530. They work...

The 690 just feels bigger, and more comfortable on long trips and any pavement riding. Doesn't really require more maintenance other than slightly more frequent oil changes.

Agreed. I really miss the grunt of the 530 motor, this 500 with exc fuel mapping is less than exciting, but hoping that a vortex ecu fixes that. Handles great though.
