I wouldn't call replacing a fuel filter every now and then a debacle. Every fuel injected bike is going to get a dirt "sock" at some point depending on fuel quality.

My 2010's plugs have over 50,000 miles on them and are still chugging along like mile 0. No real need to change them since they are long lasting iridiums.
