I use the odometer as well. But it's a warranty repair and I want my bike working as designed. I'll have it replaced every time it fails. Hopefully number three is a charm.

FWIW, I had the fuel strip on my 2008 1200 GS replaced about two months ago by a dealer. $300 and change for parts and labor. That includes a two year warranty on the part.
My bike is very low...

My bikes second strip failed at less than 6K. First one was under warranty (the first owner) and I covered the second one out of pocket. Ain't cheap.
I expect better from BMW.
