I wrestled with an intermittent dying bike for months. Turns out there was a hairline crack in the fuel system fuse. The faulty fuse looked fine at first.

No, the boot is on there. The leak we saw was actually air from the crankcase vent blowing onto the boot. Reattaching the vent to airbox fixed that right up.
