When we were loading our bikes after a trip to Michigan, I got directly off my '06 and on to his '09, both with stock suspension. His is noticeably shorter in seat height.

You should just replace the stock unit with one of the Krieger manual tensioner. It's cheap insurance.
He's my brother and I know he doesn't make much off these. He makes them just to help out...

A lot less pull-back than the standard bars. They work great for standing up and are comfortable...
