You know you can buy a smaller diameter tire valve with the seals and whatnot at most parts stores Snowy. But I agree - it doesn't take a lot of work to seal the spokes.

You could seal the spokes but still run a tube, so the deflation isn't so sudden.

I have a 2009 and have a rally seat, the one from BMW. Don't know if they make one for the new models but it sits at least 2 inches higher than the stock 'high' seat did on my bike.
