Lst year my Touratech tank came with the cross over AND an extension for the fuel pump pickup. By the looks of it, I'd estimate less than a liter of gas would remain in the tank.

Carry a breaker bar...

One choice is to carry a breaker bar... but they are heavy and not very easy to carry. I usually carry a 6 point 1/2" socket, figuring most garages would already have a 1/2 breaker bar in a tool box....

Actually, we looked into providing "cold" treated bearings as a way to strengthen them, and that is still an upgrade option for some people. (There is your business opportunity!)
