I've only been through twice, but the generally warmer weather in May and the hundreds of miles of snow-free dirt roads on BLM land sound pretty good.

Less road work on the weekend?

Do they generally work on the Dalton Highway on weekends ?
I'll be up next month from Montana, thought I might make it easier on myself by riding up to Deadhorse when there's less road work underway...

These tires are great at any speeds the GS is capable of (my '04 anyway), triple digit speeds, fully laden, most of the time, no problem.

A little more food for thought, Elko, Nevada is only 750 miles from Kalispell. Just one long day's ride down. We can just pick up riders as we head south? camp out, ride the dirt roads around...

I've never had a problem when it's cool out, say below 60 degrees or when it's raining. but above that; Bike would run great, then act as if starving for fuel and finally die if not held...
