I'd try for a trip along the north side of the Columbia River through the gorge. I'd also get off in Spokane and head south through the Palousse. Shoot for Steptoe Butte. SR 27 is a good route south.

Mapsource-Free Maps

I just picked up a 60csx and it shipped with a MapSource disk. The trick is to get MapSource to see nonGarmin maps. If you go here, there is a good tutorial on how to do it with open source software....
