Just changed mine out a couple weeks ago (at about 60k miles). I figure that noise==wear. Parts were $90-ish at the local dealer. Took me 15 minutes and one beer.

Anecdotal: My westco died at about 20 months (and my bike doesn't sit idle). Replaced with an odyssey about a year ago... time will tell.

After readjusting, the shaft sticks out of the shifter mechanism a bit (1-2mm). It shifts more nicely now, but it's still coming out of gear occasionally. 3x today on my commute.

They make a nice contrast to my boots. Zero arch support, but I've found that I prefer it that way.
