Most but not all bondo has a pinkish red color. I have used the 2 part epoxy that is made to be gas impervious and it tends to look more gray.

Pull the plugs and inspect each one. Are the wet with fuel? Are they dried up like not getting enough fuel. start there and then let us know.

I have that on my XR650L when I converted it to LED. The twin has a 3 wire the XR had a standard 2 wire.

Zinc Chromate

Painted a lot of outdrives with Mercury Marine brand Zinc Chromate self etching primer. That was followed by their black topcoat. I have to say for rattle cans this stuff held up under water.

Don't know of any rattle can paints that will really stand up to gas and or oil, but the paint shouldn't flake if it has good mechanical...

I would consider some type of filler putty if I was down and out, but if I'm going through all the trouble of rebuilding the bike and the motor is out, it's getting a new shaft.:D

The connection are the weakest link and if you aren't a purest about have your bike factory stock, then do away with them.

Use a parts search engine on a UK Honda dealer web sight and then put the part number into a US Honda dealer web sight. You may just find what your looking for.:evil
