I have ridden my 14 GSW all over on pretty bumpy roads two up with luggage. Enduro mode, setting two up, hard....

I would not worry about it. This is one of the downsides of the web forum world - I think overall just a relatively small number of bikes develop issues with the tranny input splines or final drives....

I have not owned a R12C but have ridden a friend's R12C for a day and found it very uncomfortable (6'2", long legs).
I also found it lacking wind protection. I liked my RT a lot...

I use Wolfman Rocky Mountain bags on Touratech pannier frames.
When two-up I use a 33l Givi case for stuff and backrest for the better half.
I mounted the universal Givi mount to my aluminum...

Should work at least rear. The F800GS has 4.5" rear rim and comes with 150/70.

I'd be worried about the front. Would expect them to steer even slower when the profile is more flattened than it...
