Is the kickstand bent beyond use? I'd think you could heat it and bend it back to it's original position. As far as the switch, most of us on here take it off and connect the wires together.

I would not recommend doing it on that bike, there is still lots of offroad even when you avoid the hard sections. Knobbies are highly recommended.

It's not really the forks that's the issue, it's the upper tripple clamps. I had this problem with my XR600 aftermarket upper t-clamp, I did some clearancing on them and it worked. They do just touch...
