Thumb 690R Fun?

I was informed via e-mail.

If this was a GBP250 jacket with 10,000 miles of use it would be acceptable. At GBP 800 and 2-3,000 miles I am less convinced.

Having said all that the UK importer...

Keep the speed up, hang as far back as possible and let the front end do its own thing. Scary at first but it works.

A steering damper cranked up really helps tame the front end as well.

But...

A dent that size is not a problem.

I rode over 5,000km with a huge dink in the front wheel whilst in Kazakhstan; it was so deep you could see the inner tube. We "repaired" it with the aid of a...

Time for a new fuel pump

My 2005 950S let me down twice recently without much warning. My local non-franchise dealer apparently couldn't find the problem until I said I thought it could be the fuel pump. Anyhow, I recovered...

I managed exactly the same trick on my 2005 950S in Mongolia and also have a great dent in my standard silencer; only a tail pack (no panniers) but a hell of of landing after an enforced "big-air"...

+1

Objectively there is little to separate the 2 models; what the "market" believes is purely a subjective assessment. If you don't need the R90s's paintjob the R100S/CS offers much better value.
