One airhead I restored in the past had no paperwork as usual. When I started with a Chp vin verification, the numbers on vin and motor didn't match. The motor number WAS in the California DMV system...

I believe the reason the vin shows a 1974 bmw r90 is because a previous owner trying to register this same bike didn't know what model he really had. DMV will put down what ever you say is the model....

Blue moon sells blank vin plates to do what you suggest but on older airheads, the motor and vin are the same number and the motor number would still be in the DMV system.

I bought a reproduction replacement headlight lens and chrome ring from Eurotech Motorsports a few years ago. Much cheaper than OEM. The lens was plastic but looked good and the price was right....

I rode to work today using the jacket on high. The blue light was on indicating power and max setting. I could not feel any heat. :hmmmmm
