It is rather wide, but it doesn't really affect the bike too much. MPG will go down a tad when running with the bags, but not enough matter. Range is still well over 200 miles with the bags on.

It might, my cb500f is averaging 50mpg with stop and go city riding. I also weigh 250 lbs. I imagine that if I were smaller, it would not have any problem doing 70 mpg.
