I would try running 20-50 and start with the oil fill level at 2\3 full. Monitor consumption. If she drops to 1\2 full I would still monitor consumption at that level for a while.

I do the poormans version. I save all my old aluminum sealing washers, give them a wack or two with a hammer on the vice and I can usually get the right thickness.

I checked my VIN on my 1995 R100R, my sticker said my bike was a 10/95 build and realoem said the VIN was 09/95.

The engine number was 41/95/0071, so I think you are on the right track...

You should be able to gently put a flat tool...

You should be able to gently put a flat tool between the the brake pads and pry the pads apart by twisting the tool,. ie a flat blade screw driver. Just be careful not to gouge the pad material.

I believe it was 27 and 36 mm. The 36mm was for the fork and usually involved a mallet if it had not been removed in a decade.
