I should've thought of that. Gps units usually likes to have only one mapset at a time turned on. Whatever mapset(s) came with your unit, you'll have to disable them and enable e32.

One more use for gpx2img

My favourite use for gpx2img is creating an image of the baja 1000 route, which is well over several thousand track points. My poor CSx only likes 500 or less, so trail detail is severely compromised.
