The first thing I would do is check fluid level in master cylinder cup on the handlebars.
As the clutch wears the fluid is forced back, so it may be that it just needs a little fluid removed.

in between I had a 2008 GS Hexhead.

The camhead has more horsepower, Valves stay in spec. longer.
