There are also a lot of campable spots along the road on your way to the border. Some of them right on the river and some that take you a ways off the road. And there is a gravel pit looking thing...

Passenger Pegs
I use the passenger pegs all the time. When I'm riding long stretches its a nice alternative location to rest my feet and change the position of my legs.

Stu is right, an ounce of prevention prevents use of the 2 pound hammer.
The BOLT is out.
I soaked it with the PB Blaster for a week or so with no results....

Another Stuck KLR Pivot Bolt. Heat OK?
I have the swing arm removed from my '07 KLR650 to grease the bearings and of course the pivot bolt is stuck with that sleeve rusted on.
No sidestand and the engine mount bolt has been loosened so...
