Ah well, I have some ideas (run a wire straight from stator to points and try that, run a wire from the battery to the points and try that), so I'll sort this out....

It's a new coil/condenser/plug lead. I hit it with a multi meter and it seems to be properly grounded and with the correct resistance (10k ohm).

My current theory is spark plug.
