I love my heated vest for switching between technical riding and the longer jaunts since you can just dial in the comfort. So much better than too many layers for this kind of mixed riding.

dish soap is all I have ever used and it works very well. As long as you only use a dot and really rub it in then there is no smearing or other vision issues.
