I screwed around with one for about a half hour....

I screwed around with one for about a half hour. Ended up putting a thin coat of dry silicone lube on it and it slipped right on. Wasn't sure if it was compatible or not so I sprayed it on my finger...

I agree, to a point. If you look at the diagrams in this thread you can see that the chain is in contact with the gears for 1/2 of the circumference or more. Plenty of teeth left to drive the chain...

Those splines look good to go. I'd clean out the loose shavings on the clutch and give it a good blast of brake cleaner. Dry it well and lightly lube with Honda Moly 60. You're good to go!

I wouldn't put in an additional plug unless you have a need for another. What I did was wire the existing plug directly to the battery. I'm not sure why it isn't working but I'm sure this would fix...

Need a better photo to know what's going on. Clean the splines well and compare the portion the clutch comes in contact with to the portion that it does not. You can see in the photo from Twilight...

Bypass it

I had issues with the outlet on my '11 RT, ended up rewiring directly to my accessory fuse block to get around it.

I run a ME880 on the front of the 1100GS. Been very happy with it on dirt/gravel roads. Not so good for true off road but that's not what I'm doing. Great life out of it as well.

Ordered last weekend for my new to me R1150GSA. I got the carbon version because I do want te ability to slide around. Cover is top quality and the foam looks great. Install took less than an hour...

The GS 1100GS rig does well eating up miles but...

The GS 1100GS rig does well eating up miles but isn't anywhere near as fun in the twisties as the RT. I love 'em both and as said before as long as I can afford it I'll keep both.
