There's velcro on the bag (for the stock mapcase), the 2 sided velcro straps I use on my larger map case just attach type to the existing velcro patches.

Looks good but wow that looks like a lot of work. I got the Altrider rad guards for my '14. Perfect fit. 3 screws per side. 5 minute job.
