Or you could finger tighten one of the other...

Or you could finger tighten one of the other bolts , mark it , then torque it and see how much angle it took .
Then tighten the hard to reach bolt the same amount of angle .

Engines are identical except for base gasket, cams ,carb and neutral switch (on the S).
E's also have a larger diameter headed pipe , and a CDI with a 500 rpm...

The '85 did have a monster motor . Off idle top fuel dragster. But a weak rear brake (drum) and poor suspension.
The '90 was much more refined. Smoother motor , better brakes...

Pretty sure the '88/'89 XR600R's had a plated cylinder. Which weighs less than an iron liner. So going big-bore on that motor kinda looses that advantage.

2. 49 state gas tanks use a different gas cap and are not interchangeable . I have both.
