Well, in theory mine rode pretty well as well statically timed, but with no advance whatsoever. The bike got ridiculously hot and there was that, but it actually ran, and didn't run terribly badly.....

I dont think it would be possible. 5 carrier bolts means 5 angles of rotation, and not one repeats till its back in the right place.. Its possible your timing is just inside of the marks on both ends...
