We have now logged about 47000 kms fully loaded up. I've been amazed at the fuel economy of 57 MPG. I will agree though with the speed comments. Over 50 mph and economy gets dragged down...

Not cheap, but we have the Akrapovic on both our bikes and after 50k kms, no special care they both look very newish.. Great quality, love the sound uncorked and maybe more power even if it placebo...

In a word, "longevity". 80 up front gives ou better off road grip in the loose corners and k60 gives you plenty in the rear unless things get muddy with the bonus of lasting at least double the time...

Got to agree with Lukas (battery & exhaust) not a lot of weight savings to be had even if you had big money to spend. For hardcore terrain you are better off to spend the money on a true off road...

I believe I've read in the Haynes manual that if you add preload that you are to add rebound as well. I never have on my 800 and suspension has ridden just fine for a stock rear set up.

I would check the torque on the water pump bolts....

I would check the torque on the water pump bolts. I had a dealer do a flush and they didn't torque one down properly and it came loose and it leaked.

If not then the seal would be my next guess.
