The final drive alone on the GS is 21 pounds. The shaft and housing are heavy as well. I would guess at 30 pounds difference, and a loss of 15-20 hp.

DPs are sweet

I got DP pads ony 1200GS front and back. The first 2 sets of OEM rear pads lasted less than 10K miles each. The DPs are still brand new after 5K miles. Go for it, you will be happy.
