In Germany now, missing my wife back home. Dude - you're doing well, your emotions will likely flip-flop for some time to come. Like a tank-slapper, keep a light touch on them, don't try to steer...

I got it, I got it!

I've coveted this thing for 22 years, ever since my buddy Dave rode it over to my place from the dealer, back in '87.

Rode it home to Detroit from Chicago yesterday.

I finally convinced him to...

Alaskan Leather pad works for me...

I did 4k miles last month, longest day was 880 miles with the sheepskin pad in place. No discomfort at all (even with stock seat).

I weigh 170 and I'm six feet tall, just to give an idea of the...

This exemplifies the position some face on this site...

This struck me as a clear example of the occasional intolerance for anything but that which the masses here say is acceptable.

This poor guy is kind of apologizing out of the gate for not having...

These forums are taken waaaay too literally...

I think we all need to assume that he has basic riding skills, is capable of cognitive processing of information and that he knows that ultra-slow speed maneuvers demand that no front brake is used...

Offer a bribe...

Really the only advice I can offer applies to any bike during slow speed maneuvering; use the rear brake (slightly dragging it but with a little throttle applied) during tight turns and such just to...

For me it was the key chain that made the DL1000 a GS-slayer...

So I am forced now to...

Just noticed that your bike appears to be on carpet in the house. WOW! I tried that once, my wife said that "this aggression will not stand"...back to the sub-zero garage for me.
