At the 40,000 km service on my 2005 1200gs the Dealer did some computer updates that appear to have added fuel shut off on overrun .

Welshman , with mine I found the paper filter lets fine dust straight through . Swapping to the oilable foam type with pre filter fixed .

Had an old AGV when I got the 1200GS , only noise was with stong cross winds or way above legal speeds . But as helmet was getting old...
