I tried it. Brake line hits the fairing and hand guards have to come off. I went back to stock bars. You may be able to go 1/2 inch lower but that's about it.

Wrap the bar ends with a couple layers of duct tape, then clamp with vise grips. Loosen with a good screw driver and they will come off.

16 makes the bike feel like it needs another gear. I've run a 16, 17 and 18. For me the 18 is the best choice. You actually feel the torque the bike makes.
