You might be referring to Part #12 on the online Clutch parts fiches. The manual is correct, just that some folks have found the factory had installed it wrong. I have a 2004 and it was backwards.

I like that set of tools. IMO, with the DRs rear wheel at least one of the long 16" MP irons is a necessity. I've been doing all my DL650 and DR650 tire changes for years using two of the 16" tools....
