Even without the neutral light the bike SHOULD start if you just pull in the clutch lever.

Measure the resistance of your spark plug caps. They are supposed to be 1K Ohm. If they are more than 50 K-Ohm, strange things can happen.

Beru spark plug caps SUCK. Replace them with NGK.
