Facts are hard to argue with...

Even for people who spent way to much money for a new "quality" brand like BMW, Mercedes, etc.... If you've ever filled out CR's survey form you'd realize it is a scientifically valid measure of...

Old BMWs are still good...

Amazing all the lemmings that run out and buy BMWs latest untried designs... To be honest I'd buy an olihead before I'd buy a new wethead, and I can afford either. I wrote about this on my blog...

Where's that $14k new wethead?

I did a search on Cycle Trader of everything within 300 miles of my southwest MN abode and came up with a couple R1200R wet heads for around $17.5 and GSs for over $20k. The only hex heads around are...

R1200R for $14K?

Good luck finding one. I looked at the old model (hexhead) as it's finally getting debugged and couldn't find any new ones left within a days drive of here. The new model (wethead) is actually around...

How and where are you going to ride it?

The Airheads are just plain simpler to mount and repair, and being a bit lighter will handle better too. But if you need high speed cruising ability, go with the K bike- MY 50 HP R65LS and R80ST top...

Thanks for being the brave soul to hack the first Super 10!

Just test rode and bought a new leftover 2013 for barely half the price of a new R1200GS! Jay, expect an order for a subframe this fall...

That color is great!

Wish Yamaha would offer it! The Super 10 I'm looking at is white... OK, matches black or white gelcoat sidecar well... But yellow would be better!

Sounds Great!

I got into sidecars due to disability (MS) too, 21 years ago. Hasn't gotten as bad as expected, so with some care I'm still riding the solo bikes, saving the sidecar bikes for rough going or the days...

Hows the hack'd Super Tenere working?

I've been looking for a new tug and been following your posts over at www.yamahasupertenere.com . Yamaha dealer near me has a leftover '13 at a very tempting price, was wondering how yours is working...

There's a $750 rebate, too...

From Yamaha. I was offered a '13 S10 for $10,200 OTD the other day in the midwest, dang tempting!

Criticism well taken...

As a journalist, even the amateur variety, my duty is the traditional "to comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable"! BMWMOA is both comfortable and afflicted- Sort of like the arrogant...

The Motorvation in Huron might be a good deal...

Has one expensive option I'd like to have, a sidecar brake. MCN says the bike has a retail value of $4650, too bad they painted the sidecar to match it. Only 150 miles from me, think I'll watch it in...

Just unloaded my Motorvation Spyder that I hauled back from Florida, can't wait to hook it back onto the GS and enjoy what little snow we have left in Minnesota!

Given the unreliability of current BMWs...

Gonna need lots of pickups and trailers to haul that beer to the rally, and the dead BMWs home.

Illegal in USA, but legal in South Dakota, etc.

South Dakota will give you a license plate for anything, ATVs included... I've seen them on every road there but the freeways. But as far as US DOT is concerned, they're off road only. So far, US DOT...

Never heard of them checking before, unless their was some question about the bike's legality. Wisconsin's been the tough one!

I buy everything cash, and can walk into a BMW dealership and buy any bike on the floor. I got that well off by not wasting money on overpriced BMWs and rallies and club memberships...

But I suppose after you'd payed too much for what you thought was Best Motorcycle in the World and then joined a club of fellow victims to commiserate, reality bites!

Shouldn't have to pay $40 a year to see the official explanation of how said $40 may be being wasted.

Being as I live 150 miles from the nearest BMW dealer and most of my BMWs are airheads, I let my MOA membership lapse a few years back and haven't missed it a bit. Given MOA's declining membership...
