Well, did measure the slack with the bike lifted up, as stated in the manual. Will go for alternative 2, that's the way it's described for my Beamer...

Have a similar problem with mine... Always have like 3 full turns but after a trip full load I wanted to zero the preload and turn in the three that I usually have and it behaved like you described....

First Spring ride in decent temperature
Have though already been on two wheels for 900+ miles after the snow disappeared here in mid/south Sweden but it's only today the temp jumped up conciderably ... today it was up to 68 F degrees,...

3250 miles in 12 travel days, 130 kg total load on the bike (incl. my sons 55kg but not my 82kg :D),

Took a relaxing trip in the woods after the nights thunderstorm ... perfect damp gravel roads some puddles here and there, no dusty conditions at all. Sun was shining and the temp was just below 20 C...
