Recommend you also look at the upper area of the cylinder where the rings reached TDC, there may be a carbon ring that will need to be removed to insure the new rings (with the base gaskets removed)...

Those brakes have a concentric adjustment screw at the bottom of each brake set. One of yours might be out of adjustment and causing the brakes to rub more than normal. Check the adjustment first...
