IMO, The power outlet is a better option because that line is fused. Some don't like it because it remains on for 30 seconds after the ignition is cut or they claim the outlet may stay switched on....

Sounds like the bolts are installed with Locktight. Use a heat gun on them to soften the thread locking compound. I agree with others, remove the exhaust to get the proper position with a socket.

I'll only clean a screen caked with bugs and grime with hot soapy water and sponge. Afterwards I use Honda Pro Cleaner to polish and protect pretty much every surface on the bike.
