I have no gravel experience at all but my bike came with a Scotts steering damper, should I turn it on for bad gravel roads?

I also think that the GS is more comfortable but the KTM is good for longdistance riding as well, got a Seat Concepts and a gel pad and an Aeroflow screen on mine and it tours well.
Maintenace sucks...
