I am 6ft4 with long gorilla arms and they should work fine for you.
Cables are no problem on 990ABS, just turn throttle cable down.

I agree with Paochow. Got a 2008 990ABS on a great deal and had the suspension done to s spec. Changed the fork springs and valving at the same time. I have no doubt that I have a better bike now...
