have you tried watching the valves move with a pencil in the cylinder bore to make sure you have the cam timing right?
That motor sounds like the valves are being held open all the time.

Me thinks you tightened the pinch bolts before you tightened the big nut...
My routine is as follows.
Put wheel on, tighten the big nut to pin the brake side...

The mixture screw is the brass piece just in front of the float bowl toward the Cylinder head? I have no idea where that is...

They are factory R&D 22mm offset triples. They are for a CRF. The entire front end of the bike is from a CRF at this point hence the USD front end.
