I usually leave my bike at a decent distance from my room so the pattern doesn't open up too much and mess anything up. I just shoot birdshot at hotels though, its kind of like hunting over bait!

almost any bike shop will loan you their oil pan and recycle the oil for you, especially if you buy the oil from them. I carry my own filters.
