Yes.
On 2008 they did it as a "normal" upgrade (they did it on mine) . The consumption got up (0,1 l on 100 km) , no stalling since then and a bit different throttle response.

You won't be able to ride 130+km/h for a long time. It's not the bike it's wind. Comfortable speed it's 100-110km/h (just a bit faster than trucks) . I would "gear it down" to 14/45 for Morocco.

Scanning pictures is slow (you had to put it in frame, a bit fiddly) but the quality is OK.

There is no such thing as cheap travelling with motorcycle in europe (petrol, food) especially in winter time. If you live "on nothing" you still need 30€ a day.

Great bike, but not for HW use. I'm comfortable up to 90-100 km/h, at 140+ km/h it gets "scary" . It's a bit better if you set suspension on "sport" .

I didn't liked stock 15/45 (lack of "elasticity" ) I have 15/48 and I like it. 16/45 probably works great at speeds over 100 km/h but wind "kills you" at that speed.
