Kick stand
I believe there's a couple of different ways to remedy the kick stand problem...I took a big crescent wrench and bent the bracket that holds the spring...both at the top and bottom....and it worked...

Next time you start it....let it idle for 10 minutes or so without touching the throttle. It may help some. After my bike was Mossed the first time it was much better...but after a few hundred miles...

I owned a 2011 SMR. Monster of a bike. Right now...is how I'd describe it...as everything happens right now. The 2013 STR is easier to ride and not go to jail IMHO. It's motor is seamless in the way...

Yes I use the 2" version in black...I did have to turn the throttle tube upside down to give the cables enough room to function. Easy enough..

While the TR doesn't have a regular gas gauge the mode where it reads/shows UG..for used gallons. ...is "dead on balls accurate"...sure helps me determine when to buy or start looking...

The "EWS" I experienced was from the dimmer...
The "EWS" I experienced was from the dimmer switch from chinese made LEDs. Once I figured out that issue...all I had to do to start the bike was "cycle" the key off & on. With the LEDs turned off....
