Can I suggest that you look at bar risers instead of new bars? They are way easier to fit than new bars and cheap enough that you can experiment with height. Try some 2" risers first.

RHS takes practice, but it works on soft ground as you actually lift weight off the side stand. Used it on my 1150 whenever I had bags on the backseat.
