Another vote for euromads approach! I have ridden my Bimota on dirt roads, and if it had higher bars it would be fine for that, a Triumph is a fine choice for dirt roads! You don't need a motocrosser...

my dad did all mechanical work on our cars himself, including rebuilding automatic transmissions. I always sat near and watched, and he used visegrips on springs. Ya just grab them and pull!
