The 1983 XS is the last year for the XS. It is a special ('80 through '83) which means it has electronic ignition (TCI). Unless someone changed it back to points.
It also has a 16inch rear tire...

Well after chamfer the edge of the hole with a dremmel tool, cleaning with acetone and alcohol and applying sealant, it's done. Went hot 65 mile ride and no leak. Yahoo. Now I'll have to manually oil...

I looked it up. They say to chamfer the hole with an exacto blade. No mention of hammering though I'll try anything sometimes. I'll try the exacto blade. Sort of like debut ring the edge of the hole.

I found the source of oil all over the back of my bike.
Clutch push rod seal. I obviously installed it wrong and it is torn on one side.
Anyone have any hints on installing this seal with the cases...

I bonded the bearing with JB Weld. That should do the trick. Gonna be hell to get out again. Will have to use a torch.

Well the hole for the bearing was .0015 bigger. So I greased it good and installed it. It will be fine until I get a new wheel. My hub got real hot. Was smoking. One of the brake shoes lining...
