I've had 2 KLRs...sold one at 62,000 miles, the other at 38,000 miles. Did the Doo on both, changed oil every 2k. Only problem was a water pump seal which is easy to detect by the tell-tale hole....

Replaced mine at 13,000 miles along with both sprockets. Original rear sprocket only lasted 5,000 miles. 95% pavement. Clean every few hundred with WD-40 then lube with PJ-1.
