Correct me if I'm wrong but that code was probably from the rear wheel spinning fast than the front. That's if it was in gear when it was dropped. Same thing happened to me after a minor low side.

speedo gear part# for the swap is 62122306532 and was quoted $48 from the local dealer. It's from the R1100R bikes. ratio is 2.87 or 2.9 rounded up. The GS ratio is 3.0.

I'm 6'3" and that's one of the reasons I love the GS. Plus, the cylinder heads allow me to go cruiser style and relax my legs. Though, I would be just fine...

The filter kit comes with the washers for the oil drain plug, final drive fill/drain plugs, and the tranny. I did have an extra large washer, though.

Just installed my rear rack extension and I'm most happy with the product. Plenty of places to hook on to for securing the load and still have the rear grab rail too. Customer service great as well....
