I have a 2002 400 FSE. Its a great bike for West coast trail riding. I wouldn't say its in the same ready to race class as the KTM's but overall it rates high for reliability and performance....

WD-40 is a great solvent

WD-40 is basically a solvent/degreaser and may penetrate the seal/o-ring and actually dissolve the grease sealed in the chain. I never use it on sealed chains for that reason.
